Official information: Moldova, also known as Moldavia, is a landlocked country in Eastern Europe. It lies near the northern Black Sea, but does not border it. Moldova gained its independence in 1991 following the dissolution of the Soviet Union. Moldova has been a candidate for accession to the European Union since 2022. With an average elevation of 139 meters, Moldova ranks 145th in the world. Its lowest point is at 2 meters and its highest at 430 meters. |
