  Personal information:
I'll stick to the facts: I didn't see much of Serbia. Back in winter 2018, during my Balkan vacation, I drove from Croatia to Serbia. The terrible state of the toll road is still vivid in my memory!

Checking into my hotel in Belgrade was quite an experience. With my hazard lights on, I parked near the city center, checked in, and was then escorted the owner the short distance (200 meters) to the parking garage. The drive took a long way around and lasted an hour.

The "White City" (Belgrade) struck me as rather gray and had a distinctly Eastern Bloc feel.

The food was good, and the fortress on the Danube and the city itself were beautiful. I don't think it's very likely I'll ever return to Serbia, but never say never...
